Job Opportunity – Independent Living Coordinator:
The Independent Living Coordinator is in charge of providing support, information and referral to individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities and their families. The coordinator will assist with navigation of critical systems allowing for success and independence (i.e. Guardianship, special needs trusts, housing, employment, social opportunities, transportation, & systems navigation). This coordinator would be involved with various community boards and committees to be a voice for individuals with developmental disabilities. Efforts include being able to plan and provide trainings to self-advocates and their families to keep them well informed. The Independent Living Coordinator will actively seek community partners and resources to help individuals and families navigate systems effectively as well as create new materials as needed and disseminate information. Coordination of this program will look to build leaders among those they support.
We are hiring for 20-30 hours per week.
This position may include some weekend and evening hours.
Qualifications:
We seek candidates that are comfortable working in a rapidly changing environment, and can adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate. Must possess good communication skills, and the willingness to take on other tasks as assigned. Life or work experience with developmental disabilities desired. Basic computer skills required.
