Grants are being Accepted

The Arc of Snohomish County Community Living Grants & Assistive Technology: Applications for both are Autism Grant Brochure

Thanks to the matching dollars of Greater Everett Community Foundation and the Henry M. Jackson Foundation, we have funds to be able to offer the Community Living Fund grants again.
We award grants directly to individuals in Snohomish County for the purpose of obtaining basic living necessities not available from other public or private sources. Every dollar raised is matched and given to local individuals with developmental disabilities who are in need of basic lifestyle requirements.

Basic living necessity requests can include things like:

  • A wheelchair ramp for an individual who uses a wheelchair
  • Home modifications, such as a back yard fence which allows a child with autism to play outdoors safely
  • The purchase of pots and pans and other basic home furnishings, like bedroom sheets and towels, for someone moving out of an institutional facility

The goal of the Community Living Grant Program is to reduce the number of people with developmental disabilities that have to live without basic necessities year after year.

Application deadline for the Fall Community Living Grant has been extended to November 30, 2012

The Arc of Snohomish County is also very excited to have secured funding to offer an Assistive Technology Grant.

The purpose of this individual grant funding is to provide communication/speech output devices to individuals that do not have other means by which to purchase these devices and software necessary to utilize these devices. Communication is such a huge human need, which is why we are focused on this therapeutic, educational and social need in the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities that impact their ability to produce speech effectively.

Assistive technology requests can include things like:

  • Computer program or App for Communication
  • Communication Device
  • Assistive Technology that will be used for Communication

Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis and will be reviewed monthly
