These tickets are for individuals with developmental disabilities to attend with their family or care provider. Individuals must live in Snohomish County. As a non-profit, membership driven organization, The Arc of Snohomish County gives priority to its registered members for complimentary tickets to the Aquarium, the Zoo, etc. Please take a moment to register your membership. Summer Recreational Guide The 2018 Recreation Guide is here! Recreational opportunities help children develop confidence, independence, new skills, and friendships. The guide is packed full of ideas to keep your family entertained. We encourage you to explore something new this summer! Community Access Grant The purpose of the individual grant funding from the Nysether Family Foundation is to provide individuals with developmental disabilities access toinclusive opportunities in their communities. Benefits of Sending your Child to an Inclusive Camp/Recreational Activity: • Gives your child a sense of community belonging; • Provides an opportunity for growth and a stimulating environment; • Honors everyone’s unique abilities; • Builds collaboration and interdependence; • Enhances self-esteem The focus of the Community Access Fund is to provide qualified individuals with funding for inclusive community opportunities including, but not limited to: Dance Class Exercise Class Sewing Class Day Camp Cooking Class Photography Class Requests for up to $200 may be made Community Access Grant Guidelines Now that the sun is out it may be time to start thinking about things to do this summer. Full article can be viewed HERE Listening Sessions & Town HallConsumer Directed Employer Listening SessionsWhat is happening? The Consumer Directed Employer project wants to hear from you. You are invited to participate in a listening session to learn about the Consumer Directed Employer and to share your input. This is an opportunity to talk to project staff to make sure your voice is heard. Who should attend the sessions? The sessions are intended for Individual Providers of personal care, consumers who receive personal care from an Individual Provider, and their families. Because space is limited, DSHS and Area Agency on Aging staff are encouraged to attend the monthly staff webinars instead of attending the listening sessions. What will the listening sessions cover?
How do I sign up to attend a session? Is registration required? We are requesting all attendees register in advance. Please email the following information to CDE@dshs.wa.gov:

Waiver Amendment ConversationDSHS’ Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) would like your feedback on proposed amendments to the five DDA Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) waivers. The amendments improve accessibility and the way DDA provides behavioral supports to better compliment what is available to recipients through Washington’s Medicaid state plan. Positive Behavior Support and the CIIBS waiver will be the session focus. Who should attend?

Vendors, partners and stakeholders are being invited statewide. She wants to know what DSHS is doing well, what the agency can do better, and what is important to our partners as we work together to transform lives.Know Where to GoThe Town Hall Meetings will take place at 11 locations across the state. Specific locations will be posted in the near future. All events begin at 1 p.m.
