The 2013 Public Policy Guideline for Snohomish County Developmental Disabilities details key issues of concern identified by the Citizen Advisory Board in conjunction with the community at large. This Guideline is to serve as a tool for the County’s elected officials and others who work in the public policy arena on issues critical to the County’s citizens with developmental disabilities and their families.

Impact of the Affordable Care Act on Supported Living Providers As of 2014, approximately half of the employees in community residential services are provided with medical insurance. This expense is paid out of benchmark funding allocated by the legislature. With the implementation of the ACA, community residential providers must expand coverage by 68.5% to employees eligible under the requirements of the act.
